Clinton County Reads 2026

Clinton County Reads has selected John Green’s nonfiction work “Everything Is Tuberculosis: The History and Future of Our Deadliest Infection” for its 20th annual countywide reading program.

The selection, written by the No. 1 New York Times bestselling author, weaves the story of a young tuberculosis patient named Henry with the complex social and scientific history of the disease. The book explores how tuberculosis has shaped the past and how global choices will determine its future.

“Our community submitted a fantastic array of books for consideration this year,” said Joe Knueven, committee member and director of the Wilmington Public Library. “The committee carefully evaluated each title based on its literary merit, appeal to a broad audience, and the potential for meaningful community discussion. We feel John Green’s latest work provides a powerful foundation for our 2026 programming.”

Inaugurated in 2006, Clinton County Reads is a community initiative designed to encourage residents to read the same book and engage in dialogue.

Special events, book discussions and themed programming are scheduled to take place at libraries across Clinton County throughout April.

The program is sponsored by the Blanchester Public Library, the Sabina Public Library and its New Vienna Branch, the Wilmington Public Library and its Clinton-Massie Branch, Watson Library at Wilmington College, and Books ’n’ More.
