Smokey Bear Birthday Bash

Celebrate Smokey Bear’s 80th Birthday with the New Vienna Library (114 W. Main St. New Vienna, OH). We will be holding a birthday bash for Smokey during our regularly scheduled storytimes next week and on Saturday, May 18 at 10:00 AM. You must register your child to attend the party on Saturday so that we will have enough party supplies on hand. To register, call the New Vienna Library at 937-987-4200.

Clinton County Reads 2024 begins on Monday, March 18, with “What Caring Requires,” a panel discussion featuring Dr. Craig Strafford, Hannah Lutz, and Lee Sandlin, all who work on behalf of Clinton County’s homeless population.

Local readers have voted and chosen “Rough Sleepers,” by Tracy Kidder, as the book for Clinton County Reads 2024.

A New York Times bestseller and a 2023 NPR Best Book of the Year, “Rough Sleepers” is the inspiring story of Dr. Jim O’Connell, a Harvard Medical School graduate, who created a community of care for Boston’s unhoused population, including those who sleep on the streets, the “rough sleepers.”
